The Bachelor's Programme in Game Design and Programming is offered at Campus Gotland in Visby on the island of Gotland. Instruction is entirely in English. The main subject Game Design is studied together with the students from the other programmes. The theoretical courses within game design are taught through lectures, workshops and smaller projects.

A couple of weeks back we decided to cut back on a couple of features like upgrade system, some enemies, multiple levels, among other things, and I feel like that was a good decision because otherwise we would be up to our necks in half-done things and nothing would probably feel finished for GGC. Idag samlar speldesign cirka 250 studenter från Sverige och utlandet i två årskullar. Majoriteten är killar och spelen har därför anklagats för brist på jämställdhet. Varje år i början på juni håller avdelningen för speldesign i datorspelsmässan Gotland Game Conference (GGC), främst med studenter som deltagare men delvis även öppet för allmänheten. 2006–2010 hette mässan Gotland Game Awards. Historia Gotland Game Conference (GGC), tidigare känt som Gotland Game Awards [1], är en spelmässa och konferens i Visby mellan maj och juni sedan 2002. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] . Konferensen arrangeras av Institutionen för Speldesign [ 4 ] på Uppsala Universitet Campus Gotland (tidigare Högskolan på Gotland ), och sammanfaller med läsårets slut för studenterna.
